1. WEB SITE UPDATES
More
pictures: Uploaded pictures taken this past summer of Blacklordof Cairo.
Guide
to Registering Your Foal: Added some information to this page of details,
on the requirements and procedures of foal registration, including the
CAHR, AHR, IAHA, and WAHO registries.
Breeding
information: Added and updated information on breeding using the different
methods (live cover, cooled t.s., frozen t.s.), specifically for mare
owners.

Incentives: We've come up with some incentives for mare owners. We hope
that this will make it easier and more affordable to breed to Blacklordof
Cairo.

2. SWEEPSTAKES NOMINATION
Blacklordof
Cairo is Sweepstakes nominated! All his 2001 foals are eligible as Sweepstakes
Breeding entries.

3. BREEDING INCENTIVES
Blacklordof
Cairo's stud fee is CDN$750 (about US$525) when bred to mares that are
not purebred Arabian mares. For purebred Arabian mares, his stud fee is
still CDN$1000 (about US$700).
Multiple
mare discounts: The more you breed, the cheaper it gets (down to CDN$750).
It can include any of your purebred mares, and it doesn't need to happen
all in one year.
Referral
discount (group discount): The more of your friends breed to Blacklordof
Cairo, the cheaper it gets. You receive a CDN$100 credit for each friend
that breeds to Blacklordof Cairo for the first time. Or, you could choose
to share the credit with your friends.

4. DNA TYPING
Both
the AHR and CAHR are moving to DNA typing, instead of blood typing, for
parentage verification. This means that we will now only need to pull
a few hairs, instead of drawing blood, from our foals. But, both parents
must have their DNA type on file. Blacklordof Cairo has his DNA type on
file. The CAHR has some more info on this subject at http://www.cahr.ca/dna.htm

5. ARABIAN HORSE AMERICA
Have
you ever found yourself wandering aimlessly around the world wide web,
looking for a particular type of arabian horse for sale?
When
we get inquiries for horses that we can't supply, we direct them to the
Arabian Horse America web site at http://www.arabianhorseamerica.com/
. This site offers several services including a huge database of arabian
horses for sale in the US and Canada. The search feature is excellent,
and the site is constantly improving. For those of you who haven't seen
this site, check it out!

PAHR:
Blacklordof Cairo should be registered with the PAHR by Spring 2001.

Site Updates: Keep on the look-out for a revised link page and more new
pictures.
Coat
Color Genetics Article: Did you catch our article in the Stallion/Breeding
issue of the "Canadian Arabian News"? The article was an introduction
to black coat color genetics. If it isn't in your mailbox already, I'm
sure you'll be receiving it any day! The "News" is sent to members of
the CAHR (the Canadian Arabian Horse Registry), and those who subscribe
to the magazine. For those of you who don't get the magazine, some of
the articles in the current issue of the "News" are available online at
http://www.cahr.ca/newsindex.htm .
